I feel obliged to write a post about something thats very womanly and a little bit disgusting but that needs to be addressed! This morning, after having a gorgeous but exhausting Christmas day eating my bodyweight in Matchmaker chocolates and Turkey roast dinner, I decided to treat myself to an indulgent bath to read a book. This relaxation plan was totally destroyed when i looked down and saw what could only be described as a couple of Cocker Spaniels resting comfortably on my legs “CRIPES” I thought, “Where the HECK did all that hair come from?! Have I honestly not waxed or shaved these little bad boys for so long that they now resemble PUPPIES??!!”

Here’s the thing, I wear tights all day, every day and only ever have a quick glance in the shower so I haven’t checked out my pins out properly in ages and they’re totally neglected! The colour resembles an off-white/yellow colour (Which i can only assume is old tan?!) and they’re covered in bruises and, of course, the  previously mentioned HAIR. My poor boyfriend! And there’s me thinking that when he clutched my legs in the middle of these cold, wintery nights that it was accidental or a new form of foreplay, now I realise he’s selfishly attempting to keep warm!

It just comes down to the winter months, and that’s who I’m blaming. As soon as June hits, I scrub, shave, wax & tan. I use cream after cream to make my legs softer than a baby’s bottom and then wear the minimum clothes i can get away with so I can show off the hour workout for Chezza Cole inspired legs. THEN, as soon as September hits, I cover up, dont wax/shave and could easily be mistaken for a Wilderbeast hiding out in the woods waiting to get some scram for tea.

Point I’m trying to make is, why do we feel the need to let ourselves go a little bit during the winter? Is it cause we feel there isn’t any need to bother if nobody but ourselves will be seeing it and we won’t be showing it off? If so, do we ever only preen ourselves so others can see our goodiesat their best? Have we forgotten who we should be preening ourselves for? Or is it simply a matter of wanting to feel snuggly in the winter months?

All i know is, after an embarrassed face and shaking my head at how badly i have let myself go, I quickly remembered Roy had gotten three razors for Christmas SO, now I stand, armed with a brand new Gillette (with matching wash bag and gel don’cha know!) and I’m ready to take on any challenge.

Now all I’m dreading is seeing what my armpits look like….

Hey everyone!

So.. I am officially back! I know I didn’t take an official “break” and send out the generic “Seeya im off!” post but I did break up with my blog. We weren’t getting along like we used too. I had no words left to say and i was finding it a chore to keep up with so, after a lot of thought and 6 beautiful months, we took a break.
Of course like with all breakups it felt tough but after a month, a holiday & several shy logs on, we are officially back together & online..

It has been a weird few months. Everything is great but I’ve felt totally uninspired. It’s frustrating because one of the things I love doing is writing but when you have no words left it just feels really blank.

So, to kick start my first October post, I’ll do what a few bloggers have been doing at the moment which is the ‘In & Out’ post!

IN:

1) My sparkly new iPhone! (which I am blogging from right now..clever!) and I have spent a fortune in the apps store on silly games I don’t need but I am LOVING IT!!

2) Freederm gel. I think my pill was sending the skin on my face crazy & it came out in a rash so my mum (of all people!) had some freederm in her drawer & let me borrow it and it is a miracle worker I swear! My skin is like a baby’s bottom..lovely!

3) Lightened hair: I know the winter months are usually full of lovely dark nails and chocolate brunettes but I haven’t been very creative with my hair in AGES so I decided to get a dye and lighten it and it really worked! Loving having a new look!

OUT:

1) Winter colds to come..note to self: flip flops don’t work in October, no matter how sunny..brrr!

2) Gym: I only signed up yesterday and I am already dreading the burn! Bottom is size of small county so it is nescessary! Why does good food act so naughty on your body?!

3) Broken camera!! In Greece my camera decided to break so we had to use disposeables! As my friends know and predicted I had a camera glued to my hands the whole time..even if it was 5 bright yellow Greek cameras!

And that’s it! I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been checking back and leaving comments, you guys rock! I promise if we ever take a break again I will leave with plenty of notice!

I bought a few No7 gifts for a blog competition a while ago and never got round to it but it will still be happening so look out for that soon!

Huge kisses!

HELLO! Sorry i have been a bit vacant for a while I don’t seem to have to headspace to sit and blog at the moment. I know it sounds silly, i do have lots to say but when it comes to it, it all comes out a bit skew-wiff..ya’know? Anyway, i’ve bought quite a few things lately so i thought that would be a good way to get back on the writing wagon..

On Saturday i went to my local charity shop with Roy’s mum to look for a book she’s after. I’ve never thought of looking in charity shops for books before but there are some absolute treasures in there. I bought a couple of girly romance books and then came across  ‘Vogue Guide To: Skin Care, Hair Care & Make-up’ book for 30p and HAD to buy it. It’s from 1981 and has loads of hints and tips for hair, make-up and general skin care. When i’ve had a proper read, i’ll share the tips with you guys!

Also, every now and then i seem to run out of all my make-up at once. I don’t know much about make-up so i usually run into No7 in boots and cry for help and i always end up spending a bomb and coming out of there feeling like i have loads of things i dont know how to use. (See previous blog posts for huge rant earlier in the year!)  But for Christmas last year my mum bought me lots of No7 goodies and one of them was a No7 ‘Stay Perfect’ eye shadow palette with a cute little mirror and i love it.

( L-R: 1) Vivid Violet, 2) Lilac Sky, 3) Island Sea, 4) Comet, 5) Truffle, 6) True Gold 7) Innocence 8) Tender)

I’m in love with the Innocence colour. It’s like a creamy white and goes on really nicely. Also with the two purples i like to put the lighter one in the corner of my eye and the darker one blended off it to make it look kind of funky. I’ll add a picture next time i try it!

Anyway, I went into No7 to see whether they still sold Innocence (as you can see, im running low!) and luckily they did. I was also running low on blusher and i wanted to try a new lipstick because i never really do anything with my lips other than carmex and i think a little bit of lipstick every now and then can just make you feel so sexy and feminine and because i spent over £22, i got a free watch..bargain.

(L-R: Innocence Eye Shadow, Wild Volume Lipstick in Ruby Glow & Natural Blush cheek colour in Soft Damson)

The lipstick is really nice. It is quite red though so i have to tone it down with a couple of kisses to some toilet roll but generally i love it. I have quite big lips anyway so haven’t noticed any serious volume but what i would say is i do have to moisten my lips with balm first just because it kind of dries them out a little bit.

I’ve been looking a lot on YouTube lately and there is a brilliant blogger, i think her name is Lollipop26, and she did a demo with St Moriz fake tan and it looked fab so i popped into TG Hughes and they had it reduced from £3.99 to £2.99 so i picked up some of that to try next time i fancy tanning myself and i’ll do a review.

IMG_2159

If you’ve never heard of St Moriz before, its a foam pump self-tan and supposed to be a big rival to St Tropez. I’ve never tried St Tropez but everyone raves about it so i jumped on the wagon for St Moriz. For a full review check out Lollipop26’s YouTube Channel for more information!

SO, that’s all i got! I’m gonna be doing some videos this week so i’ll upload those. One will be a ‘What’s In My Bag’ and the other will be the ‘Top Shoes’ video so watch out for those!

Also, once everyones back from holiday we will do a podcast FOR SURE.

Make sure you subscribe guys!

Big kiss x x x x

Dawn Porter

For the past two nights my favorite celebrity & journalist Dawn Porter has been  back on our screens with a two part documentary called ‘My Breasts Could Kill Me’ which is a very emotional series about breast cancer. As her Mum died of cancer when she was only 34, Dawn embarks  on a very emotional journey of tests and scans to find out how vulnerable to cancer she is and whether she has the hereditary cancer gene. Along the way she meets some truly inspirational and amazing men & women who are either currently battling cancer or who have had it and fought their way through to the come out of it the other side.

I haven’t had any close experiences with loosing someone to cancer but the concept of cancer has occasionaly been on my mind. For me, my boobies have always made me feel sexy. I like the size, the shape and how womanly they make me feel but Dawn made such a good point in the show by saying she loves her’s too..but eventually they might be the things that kill her.

Dawnies has always been involved in interesting and captivating documentries and what i love about them is that she digs into subjects that get you thinking.  In many of them, the subjects have been about topics i probably wouldn’t have ever considered thinking about before, but when your watching them it makes you wonder why you hadn’t thought about them sooner and this current documentary is a classic example of that. Eventhough I knew cancer existed and have thought about it a little before, it’s never been something i knew much about. For example I never knew how it can start, that it could be hereditary, that it can be in healthy people as well as unhealthy people, that it doesn’t just strike smokers/drinkers and, probably most importantly of all, i didn’t ever consider that men too could get breast cancer too.

I truly admire all the people who took part in the documentary. They were all so brave and inspirational. There was one girl in particular, Kristin, who i felt i could relate to on an age level because she was only 23 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She told doctors 8 months prior to her diagnosis that she had a painful lump in her breast but they claimed it was hormonal. By the time they finally listened to her it was a 6x9cm tumour in her breast and had spread to her spine too. When this gorgeous girl was interviewed by Dawn her attitude towards cancer was really positive which, in-turn, was so empowering. She is determined to give cancer the biggest & best fight she can and really kick it in the balls and i couldn’t hope more that she does.

Dawnies really bares her soul and i admire her bravery and courage so much. She lets us into her very personal journey and emotional roller coaster and it made me adore her even more than i did before. She is an inspirational & amazing role model and a perfect example of “real” women. It’s a documentry that will definitely give your heart-strings a tug but it’s so worth watching. It gives you a better understanding of cancer but also a very personal insight to Dawns life and it makes you wish you were there to give her the biggest hug you can.

P.s: Kristin has an amazing campaign called  Coppafeel to teach people the importance of checking their breasts to determine early signs of breast cancer. It is an amazing project so make sure you head over to her site and check it out on the click able link above or the image below.

 Morning guys & girls!

I’ve been ploughing myself with tea today to try and distract myself from tiredness – It’s taking over! I think the weekend really does catch up with you mid-week if you’ve done quite a lot of “socialising” on your weekend!

This weekend was quite hectic for me & Roy. On Friday we went for “quiet drinks” which always turns somehow into a party. We ended up at Roy’s best friends house for a freezing cold pool party which, looking back at the photos and videos the next day, proved it was actually a paddling pool with green water. But it was probably the most fun i’ve had in ages..although i’ve never smelt so bad the next day in my life..

 IMG_1834

On Saturday we went to a firework/classical event at Warwick Castle and it was spectacular. It was like a totally civilised Glastonbury or something. There were thousands of people all sat with their folding chairs and tables facing towards a huge stage where a beautiful full band played classical music. (Some people had put so much effort in and bought mini banquets with candles too!) The fireworks were the best i’d ever seen ..just..amazing! I’ve got some videos i’m gonna upload later so watch out for them!

IMG_1948

I was starting to panic that i had nothing nothing to wear to this event so i hit New Look and woah..their sale is amazing! I got 4 really cute dresses for under £40 (the price of one at Topshop..!) Anyway, i decided to wear a cute navy prom dress with little roses on it but to try and not look too over dressed, i dressed it down with my denim jacket and white/dirty pumps. I’d had my hair in a really high bun for 4 days (don’t judge me, the weather was SO hot all week!) so when i took it down, i looked a little bit like a crazed Tina Turner so, to save time and not wash my hair, i cliped half of my head up in kirby-grips, and dragged my fringe back kind of to one side and let other peices fall on the other side occasionally gripping little bits up. Here are a couple of photos but excuse the sarcastic/tired/VERY hungover face and the bruised arm..

outfit

I feel like i’ve totally neglected my wardrobe recently so I went into H&M on Friday and picked up this really cute sequinned waistcoat for £19.99. I love wearing it over vest logo tops or simple dresses. I like it because it hangs quit baggy & isn’t too formal but the sequins are quite fun so you feel kind of dressed up..but trendy, ya’know?

 H & M Waistcoat - £19.99

Urban Outfitters had an amazing sale on their stuff too recently. I picked up this necklace & make-up bag for £4.99 each, both reduced from £24. AMAZING! The necklace is a horse with a working clock attached, and the make-up bag is by Betsy Johnson and comes in pink or black!

IMG_1896

This rain is driving me crazy now.. I know, i know, I constanly moan about the weather but when you go out in sandals and end up skidding around like your on ice cos’ the rain is hammering it down..it’s bound to make you angry! So today i’m donning a polkadot dress, leggins, PUMPS, and sequinn waistcoat..not warm but i’m DRY at least!
